Our client is an international wealth management and investment group with operations and international offices in several major countries. We are looking for someone with strong people skills together with excellent technical ability to develop and supervise a team of client accountants, bookkeepers, and trainees in relation to the bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and other ad-hoc reporting for our private client / family office / corporate structures.
§ Act as one of the primary points of contact for accounting technical queries raised by the clients, administrators, or accounting team.
§ To attend client board meetings and present financial statements or mentor those client accountants who are required to present as the meetings.
§ To ensure accounts are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and monitor control checklists relating to accounts preparation.
§ To monitor individual time charging targets and ensure all WIP is reviewed in a timely manner and communicated to the admin teams.
§ To carry out appraisals, ensuring objectives are achieved and that training requirements are identified and implemented. To act as a mentor to all staff in the department.
§ To keep abreast of the changing regulatory environment and any new legislation that ensuring that the impact on the clients and team are understood and implemented.
§ This will include individual research and the requirement to present accounting updates to the team and wider office.
§ To train new staff and report to the team details of changes to management procedures.
§ To assist the team with fee quotes and pitch documents. If required also attend such meetings.
§ Review externally prepared financial statements and liaise with external accountants to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
§ To maintain client confidentiality.
§ Achieve financial targets as determined by management.
§ Such other duties as senior management may at times reasonably require.
§ Professional qualification – ACA, ACCA or equivalent;
§ Ideally five - seven years’ qualification experience in a similar relevant capability in the finance industry;
§ An very good understanding of local regulatory regime, and relevant accounting standards;
§ Ability to lead, motivate and influence a team;
§ High level of communication skills and ability to manage multi conflicting priorities with the team’s client delivery.
